Wallets

Wallets are used to store your assets as you interact on chain. They come in two varieties hot and cold wallets.

Hot Wallets - Hot Wallets

These are wallets that exist in your browser and are what you will generally use to interact with apps on various chains. Because you'll be connecting to multiple apps it is easy to have your entire wallet get drained. You should ensure you are connecting to only trusted sites and only keep both NFTs and Tokens in a hot wallet if you are intending to transact with them frequently

Cold Wallets - Cold Wallets

These are wallets that exist on hardware devices. You'll need to purchase the device separately and then you'll set up your wallets for various chains. The recommended flow for cold wallet is to minimize the number of apps you connect the wallet to on chain. Instead you should send assets from your cold wallet to the hot wallet and then interact with the hot wallet.

Adding to your Wallet

To add funds to your wallet you'll need to purchase Crypto either through a Central Exchange i.e. Coinbase or on-ramp providate i.e Moonpay. Rules are different depending on your residency
